The Great Listening

The Great Listening

The Great Listening, inspired by Sweden’s 50-year-old Almedalen week of discourse, will host its inaugural event this November 16-17 in Austin.  Almedalen has welcomed leaders from diverse backgrounds like Karl Rove and Jesse Jackson to business leaders like Adam Kostyál, Nasdaq, Sr. VP and Dr. Catherine Mann, Citi, Global Chief Economist.

Austin’s The Great Listening (TGL) event will focus on one golden rule: Positive solutions. It is time to stop the polarization and angry rhetoric and seek positive solutions for the good of our communities and businesses.

For two days positive solutions will be offered in TGL’s festival of ideas and solutions. Panels and speakers will focus on varying important issues, including:

  • Economic
  • Social
  • Environmental
  • Medical and Scientific
  • Education

TGL’s mission is to facilitate an open source platform that encourages free and positive exchange of ideas for businesses, individuals, and organizations, to spark economic growth and generate solutions to community issues.

We can make democracies stronger by listening to each other.

Join us and return positive dialog to our societal problem solving as we listen to people from different backgrounds and beliefs exchange ideas to strengthen our democracy. We are proud to partner with the World Affairs Council of Austin.
