Please join like-minded “global thinkers” for a monthly discussion on the major political/economic issues that our world is currently experiencing. Initially this event will be a virtual zoom discussion with break out groups.
The discussion topic this month will be:
Is COVID-19 ending globalization and the idea of a borderless world?
The COVID -19 pandemic has created new barriers. Closed borders, travel bans, impacted supply chains, export restrictions and rising economic nationalism have prompted many to question the future of globalization and the idea of a borderless world. Still, the flow of data across borders has increased dramatically. Before the pandemic, international travel and study abroad were at all time highs and migration was so vast that many called it a crisis. What is the future once we have a vaccine and the pandemic recedes? Has COVID-19 affected the way you think about globalism?
