The US has announced a 20-point plan for the region, and at this time, some would say that a ceasefire and the return of the Israeli hostages is perhaps feasible. However, the more critical issue is where the region moves forward from there. The details in the proposal are often rather vague, even aspirational. A cease-fire and hostage exchange is not necessarily peace in the Middle East.
