In collaboration with the LBJ Presidential Library and the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce, World Affairs Council of Austin members join key Austin business and community leaders at a private luncheon with the Ambassador of Vietnam to the USA. The main objective of this luncheon is to promote a comprehensive US-Vietnam partnership, of which key components are economic development, trade, and relationship-building with Texas-based companies across all business sectors.
Since the establishment of the US- Vietnam bilateral trade agreement in 2001, trade between the two countries has grown dramatically. The United States and Vietnam have concluded a trade and investment framework agreement’ they also have signed textile, air transport, and maritime agreements. The two countries, along with other Asia-Pacific nations, are part of the Trans-Pacific Partnership negotiations, with the goal of concluding a high-standard regional free trade agreement.
This exclusive event is hosted by the Austin Chamber of Commerce, the LBJ Presidential Library and the University of Texas at Austin as a special program of the Vietnam War Summit.
