SUMMARY:Luncheon with Slovakia's Minister of Economy and the Ambassador to the USA
DESCRIPTION:The World Affairs Council of Austin presents an exclusive luncheon featuring the Minister of Economy\, Vazil Hudák\, and HE Peter Kmec\, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to the United States.  Minister Hudák and Ambassador Kmec will provide an overview of the business climate in this dynamic European nation. \nSlovakia features an open economy\, with exports serving as the main driver of GDP growth.  Since joining the European Union (2004) and the Eurozone (2009)\, the Slovak Republic has led the region garnering FDI\, because of its relatively low-cost\, highly-skilled labor force\, reasonable tax rates\, and favorable geographic location. \nSlovakia’s strongest industry sectors include: R&D Specialization; Automotive and Mechanical Engineering; Information and Communication Technology; Consumer Electronics; Electrical Equipment; Metals Production and Processing; Material Research; Nanotechnology; Biomedicine and Biotechnology. \nRobert Šimončič\, Director of the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO)\, will also present during the luncheon.  The SARIO Director will provide an overview of the incentives available to Texas companies thinking about expanding their operations in this vibrant EU member market. \nThe Honorary Consulate of the Slovak Republic to Texas is coordinating this special visit to Austin.  Honorary Consul Martin Valko will be available to discuss specific intitiatives between Slovakia and Texas. \nEvent partners include the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce\, Chavez & Valko\, LLP and the Austin Regional Manufacturers Association. \n
