Akrout oversees teams responsible for global operations\, platform and product engineering\, and infrastructure and IT services. In this role\, Akrout is responsible for end-to-end yield\, costs\, quality\, and delivery of new AMD products to customers\, and optimizing business critical infrastructure and IT service/support. \nBefore joining AMD in 2008\, Akrout worked at Freescale Semiconductor as vice president and general manager of the Networking System Division where he focused on networking multi-core and Digital Signal Processing\, driving processor competitiveness in the networking markets.    Prior to Freescale\, he spent 23 years at IBM\, where his last assignment was vice president of Entertainment and Embedded Processor Development and was responsible for the Cell Project developed through a Sony/Toshiba/IBM partnership as well as Xbox 360 processor development for Microsoft and embedded PowerPC processors cores for SoC. \nAkrout holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from the University Pierre & Marie Curie in France\, and a doctorate in electronics and physics. \n\n\n\nHaizril Abd Rahman is the current Director of MIDA Houston and was appointed on November 7\, 2016. He joined the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) in 2008 as an Economics Affair Officer. He served in Electrical & Electronics Industries Division at MIDA headquarters in Kuala Lumpur\, Malaysia before being assigned to MIDA US office in Boston as the Deputy Director in 2014.  Haizril graduated from the University Tenaga Nasional\, Malaysia with a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering. \nThe Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) is the government’s principal agency for the promotion of the manufacturing and services sectors in Malaysia. MIDA assists companies intending to invest in the manufacturing and services sectors\, as well as facilitates the implementation of their projects.
