Discover five Malawi teas in the comfort of your own home during this hour long tea tasting workshop! Your host is Jordan Price, Malawi’s only Honorary Consul in the United States. The program is limited to 20 people and is first registered, first served.
At this private program, open to WAC Austin members and their guests, you’ll relax at home sipping and learning about the science and art of crafting Malawi tea, a delicious artisanal crop. Malawi’s Honorary Consul Jordan Price and VIP guest Felix Lindeire will share insider secrets to enhance your tasting experience.
To participate, reserve your tea tasting kit as soon as possible. There are a limited number of tea kits available. The five teas, fresh from Malawi, have been selected with Fall in mind. A tea tasting wheel and grid for recording your tea tasting experience is included. The kit contains enough of each tea for a few batches. If you are accustomed to tea bags, you’ll be happy to know quality loose teas can be resteeped numerous times. Each resteeping produces distinct nuances.
Please order your kit before February 10th to ensure it arrives in time for the event. Here is the registration link for your tasting kit:
During this special event, you will experience savory teas from the Satemwa Estate in Malawi’s Thyolo District. Most tea cultivars in Malawi were developed by the Tea Research Institute of Central Africa. The institute has conducted tea research for 80+ years, developing 50 endemic Malawian cultivars perfectly adapted to southern Malawi’s unique terroir and climate.
After you purchase your tea kit, you will receive Zoom event login information one week prior to the workshop. If you are new to Zoom, please practice before the program.
