SUMMARY:Disinformation is Global
DESCRIPTION:We are experiencing a global circulation of misinformation and disinformation\, especially via digital media. What are the international and regional contexts in which disinformation is generated\, harvested\, circulated\, and weaponized? How do we generate policy recommendations and solutions for the looming problems of the “post-truth” world? As the Ex. Director of “the Global Disinformation Lab (GDIL) at the University of Texas\, Dr. Mosser will address the issues we currently face with the proliferation of Disinformation.\n\n\nDr. Michael W. Mosser is at the University of Texas with a joint appointment in the Department of Government\, the Center for European Studies (CES)\, and the International Relations and Global Studies (IRG) program. He is the Executive Director of the Global Disinformation Lab (GDIL)\, the Assistant Director of the Center for European Studies (CES)\, as well as a Distinguished Scholar at the Robert S. Strauss Center for International Security and Law. He teaches courses in European and international security\, European environmental policy\, comparative and European politics\, international organizations\, and foreign policy analysis.\nDr. Mosser received his Ph.D.\, in political science at the University of Wisconsin – Madison.  He has published articles and book chapters on the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) as well as in the fields of military art and science and military sociology more generally.\n  \n\nParking at Neill-Cochran House House Museum: Free in the museum lot\, accessible via 23rd between Leon and San Gabriel; additional street parking available.
