SUMMARY:Globalist Coffeehouse: Communicating with Pets Around the Globe
DESCRIPTION:We will be meeting in person in the semi-private dining room at the Shoal Creek Saloon\, 909 N. Lamar. This month’s topic is: Communicating with Pets Around the Globe \nRegardless of what nationality\, country\, or even religion we come from\, we all grew up having some type of pet in our households. Whether it’s a cat\, a dog\, a parrot\, a bunny\, or even a goat\, we all communicate with our animals. One interesting aspect of this subject is that it’s not necessarily in English that we talk to them; it might be Spanish\, Hindi\, Hebrew\, Italian\, or any other language for that matter. Pets adapt to whatever style of communication their owners use. So\, if you begin speaking to your animal in one language versus another\, they’ll most likely get used to it. For example\, we know that dogs listen to commands\, and it’s the intonation of the voice that tells them what kind of command it is\, however\, there is a significant difference between saying “Stay” in English versus let’s say in French. \nWhat are your experiences with your furry loved ones? Do they understand what you say in a variety of languages? Do they respond well to a particular one the most? Tell us about your international/multilingual communication pet stories. \nPlease join us at the Shoal Creek Saloon for what will be a very interesting discussion. \n \nFor more details contact: \nEllen Murry\, Co-chair\, of the Globalist Coffeehouse: ellen.murry@yahoo.com \nPolina Anastassieva\, Co-chair\, of the Globalist Coffeehouse: polina@wacaustin.org  \n
