DESCRIPTION:We will be meeting in person in the semi-private dining room at the Shoal Creek Saloon\, 909 N. Lamar. This month’s topic is:  \nHealthcare Around the World and Your Own Experience – the Good\, the Bad\, or Rather Unusual\nRegardless of what country we come from\, medical emergencies happen all over the globe on a daily basis. Healthcare policies determine if one decides to receive treatment in one particular country over another. The cost of living\, the government structure\, as well as insurance coverage can all be factors even for just a simple surgery of any kind. \nIn the United States\, for instance\, healthcare is privatized\, meanwhile in Switzerland\, it is regulated by Swiss Federal Law on Health Insurance. Yet in France\, it is universal\, which combines a more centralized and national government aspect. In Asia\, countries such as Singapore\, Hong Kong\, and South Korea also offer world-class services. And then there is Australia\, which is considered one of the top countries in the world for overall healthcare quality.  \nWhat about your own experience when you got sick abroad? How was the doctor\, the healer\, the clinic and the hospital or even the dentist? What about the actual medicine? Were you treated with pharmaceuticals or traditional herbal medicines from that culture? What was the cost in dollars\, from a minor cut to a root canal or even a complex surgery?
