DESCRIPTION:Please join like-minded “global thinkers” for a monthly discussion on the major political/economic issues that our world is currently experiencing. February’s topic will be:  What’s next – U.S. international relations in 2023? We will be meeting in the private dining room at La Madeleine\, 9828 Great Hills Trail. \nWhat are – and will be – the critical issues in the world of international relations for 2023? Of course\, there is Ukraine and the ongoing war. How will Russia proceed in the war? Will negotiations continue to be stalled or will peace eventually be restored?  What will be the Russian response to Finland and later possibly Sweden joining NATO? \nThen there is the tension over China’s increasingly assertive role in the Taiwan Straits and South China Seas. Will China be able to “manage/control” Kim Jong-un in North Korea? \nAnd in the Middle East\, we see Netanyahu’s ruling coalition’s aggressive position toward the Palestinians and the West bank. Moving on to Africa there are terrorist groups like Boko Haram and Al-Shabaab.  Finally\, there is Latin America with demonstrations on the left and right in countries from Brazil to Peru. \nWhat is your opinion?
